This is such a classic snack mix recipe. I make this every year for holiday parties and football games. Its so easy to make and very flavorful. The great thing about this recipe is that it is so customizable. I sometimes replace the peanuts with mixed nuts or cashews or throw in oyster crackers to add some crunch. If you want sweet and salty add some m&m's or caramel corn.
This recipe is for classic Chex Mix. I have made mine in the microwave and in the oven.
3 cups Corn Chex™ cereal
3 cups Rice Chex™ cereal
3 cups Wheat Chex™ cereal
1 cup dry roasted peanuts
1 cup bite-size pretzels
1 cup bagel chips
6 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon Chex Mix seasoning
In large microwavable bowl, mix cereals, nuts, pretzels and bagel chips; set aside. In small microwavable bowl, microwave butter uncovered on High about 40 seconds or until melted. Stir in seasoning and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over cereal mixture; stir until evenly coated.
Microwave uncovered on High 5 to 6 minutes, thoroughly stirring every 2 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool. Store in airtight container.
Pre-heat oven to 250°. Put cereal and seasoning mixture into ungreased roasting pan and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes.
